Paul Jenkins most recently served as Associate Head Coach for Men’s Ice Hockey at NCAA DII Assumption College.   He handled the defense and was recruiting coordinator for the team.  He helped guide the team to three straight winning seasons, the first ever NE10 Conference League title in program history and the highest winning percentage in nearly 25 years.  Jenkins directly coached two players to consecutive NE10 Conference Defenseman of the Year Awards.  In addition, he coached and directed the NE10 Conference Player of the Year and a Concannon Award nominee.  His most recent recruiting class brought in 11 student-athletes including the NE10 Rookie of the Year and 3 Conference All-Rookie Team members.  His defensive scheme helped produce the league’s lowest shots against total and lower Assumption’s GAA% by nearly a goal over the previous season.  The penalty kill led the conference with back-to-back SHG and finished 2nd in PK%.

Prior to Assumption College he spent over two decades in Junior ‘A’ hockey with the Islanders Hockey Club/New England Huskies.  With the Islanders he was Head Coach and Director of Operations and oversaw 6 teams at the midget and junior level and operated a 1.6 million dollar budget.  His teams qualified for the playoffs in 18 of 21 seasons.  He won over 470 games and was named EJHL and USPHL Coach-of-the-Year in 2007 and 2016.

As part of the Islanders Hockey Club, Jenkins created and directed the volunteer and education program for the entire club of 48 teams of boys and girls and over 500 families.  The Autism initiative has generated over $750,000 since inception for Autism Speaks.  This program continues to grow and create awareness.

Jenkins was an Assistant Coach with Team USA at the inaugural World Junior Club Championship in Omsk, Russia handling the defense against Russia Red Army/CSKA, Latvia Riga, Slovakia, Sweden, Canada, Belarus and Czech Republic.   Jenkins served as USA Director for Central Scouting Bureau for QMJHL as well as New England area scout for St. John and Montreal.

He has coached three current NHLers and five NHL players in total.  In addition, he has coached and guided over 250 players to NCAA hockey, four Olympians and eleven National Team players over 6 Nations.  Jenkins owns and operates Jenkins Hockey Dynamics, which conducts skating, skills development and over-speed programs for elite players.  He has directed the skating dynamics for NESIK Sommer Camp for the past 23 years working with some of Norway’s best players and top trainers.

A 1987 graduate of Colgate University, he served as captain and won the Coley Award as top defenseman.  Upon graduation he signed as a free agent with the NY Rangers and played with their top affiliate in Colorado IHL.  Jenkins moved to Europe and played two additional years in Holland and Germany.  Prior to Colgate he was a two-time ISL All-star and All-New England selection while prepping at St. Mark’s.  He was awarded the Flood Shield as ISL MVP.  He has been inducted into the St. Mark’s Athletics Hall of Fame.  Jenkins was also offered two DI scholarships for baseball, but declined to pursue a path in ice hockey.

Jenkins lives in Milford, MA with his wife Lucy who is the Director of Special Education for the Milford School System, an LMHC and current PHD candidate and daughter Olivia, a recent graduate of University of Vermont (BA) and Leeds-Beckett (MA) and current PHD candidate.
